A New Book, today. Expectations none. Only hope.
“A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people.”
–Thomas Mann
Today, yes today…
I’m announcing the publication of my second novel—NATALIE’S WAY a psychological thriller, available in Kindle format on Amazon. The paperback will be available for purchase August 30.
To summarize, this is the story of a small-town girl who escapes to California after being accused of killing her parents. She’s a confused young woman with a broken psyche. It began early on believing she was unwanted at birth. Then at seventeen the victim of a brutal assault. Natalie has been raised in isolation under the tutelage of a moralistic genius father’s relentless homeschooling. With Mensa-level intellect, a disarming coyness, and a biting wit that wounds, she’s built a wall around her, a calculated defense against a society that has only seen her as an object of men. She wields her brilliance like a weapon against overwhelming odds: a pimp, a mob boss, a brutal hitman who plays dirty and puts her only friend in harm’s way.
Her vulnerability, intellectual strength, and moralistic instincts are in a constant war, each vying for dominance. Her audacity, reluctance to compromise, and fearless nature to do things her way drive her into trouble at every turn. But in quiet moments, when the façade cracks, glimpses of heartache emerge, a wounded soul longing for genuine connection with someone yet terrified of being hurt again. Is her mind too brilliant to find peace? Is death her only escape to tranquility?
I hope you get it. I hope you enjoy it. If so, or otherwise, please write a review on Amazon. Authors thrive on reader feedback. Reviews (good or not) make us better writers. If you’ve never written a book review on Amazon click this video REVIEW on how easy it is to write one on Amazon.
And don’t worry. A review doesn’t have to be written like an English major. However you want to say it, just write it down. Just a line or two, commas, capitalizations…no worries, who cares? Reviews give an author a sense of reader’s interest. And in my case, I’ll respond to any and all comments posted to me.
Thanks for reading. Enjoy the rest of your Summer.
